WIRF the Effort - Women's Triathlon

WIRF were delighted to be the charity partner of Women's Triathlon event this year along with the Esther Foundation.

Much of WIRF’s work is about ‘creating healthy generations’- making research discoveries that will save lives and improve the health of women and babies. This event presents a great opportunity for us to share our work and research discoveries with women and girls in the WA community.

We would especially like to thank our everyone at Trievents for this opportunity and our supporters who helped raise over $1500. This money will go directly to research into preterm birth, helping mums to deliver healthy babies and reduce the impact of prematurity.

WIRF had a great presence throughout the weekend with our volunteers, display and the WIRF the Effort team competing in the event. Our team came an overall 4th which was a brilliant result for our first team event! Watch out for 2013.

We got noticed - with hundreds of people (mainly women) visiting the park over the weekend hearing about WIRF and the work we do. A huge thanks to our volunteers who did a wonderful job arriving as early as 6am and handing out drinks and bananas to participants. And not forgetting Chris (for all her encouragement and providing a splendid morning tea for everyone) and a special thanks to Ash at Embroid-Me in Perth for stand out the WIRF t-shirts.
