The Women and Infants Research Foundation (WIRF) has partnered with Safewill to offer people the opportunity to write a free, legally binding Will during Charity Wills Week.
From 16 to 30 March, individuals can write their Will online at no cost, providing a simple and accessible way to take care of something important without the usual expense or complexity.
Safewill has helped more than 100,000 Australians write their Will through its trusted online platform, which is designed to make the process clear, secure and straightforward.
Many people intend to write a Will but delay taking action – not because it isn’t important, but because it can feel overwhelming or uncomfortable.
WIRF Chief Executive Officer Ms Deb Portughes said this was the reason for the partnership with Safewill.
“Together, we’re making it easier for people to take this meaningful step and ensure their wishes are known and respected,” Ms Portughes said.
“If individuals choose, it also creates an opportunity to consider leaving a gift to the people and causes that matter most to them.”
Writing a Will can bring clarity during difficult moments and help reduce stress and uncertainty for loved ones. Taking a few minutes now can make a significant difference later.
In under 20 minutes, individuals can:
- Put clear instructions in place for the people and causes they care about
- Reduce future stress and uncertainty for their loved ones
- Enjoy the peace of mind that comes from having their wishes documented
Ms Portughes said that, as part of the process, individuals also have the option to leave a gift in their Will to support the Women and Infants Research Foundation.
“There is absolutely no obligation or pressure to do so,” she said.
“However, many people choose this as a meaningful way to support better health outcomes for women, babies, and families well into the future.”
