Perth mothers in need of spoiling are at the centre of a very special campaign being led by the Women & Infants Research Foundation (WIRF) and Lawley’s Bakery this Mother’s Day.
The two iconic WA organisations have joined forces to deliver the inaugural ‘Mother’s Day Breakfast in Bed Boxes’ which is offering a choice of either a family box or individual box – each a veritable treasure trove of baked goods and treats for mum. A percentage of profits from each box sold will go directly to supporting the Foundation’s critical research and programs.
Governor of Western Australia and WIRF Patron, the Honourable Kim Beazley AC, said the initiative was a fantastic opportunity to thank and celebrate a ‘common hero’ among us all.
“For more than 40 years, WIRF has focussed its work on improving outcomes for all Australian women, mothers and their babies. It is for this fundamental reason that I am proud to be its Patron,” he said.
“The Foundation’s critical research and programs have produced tangible outcomes for Western Australian families and our global community and we are excited to see this world-leading work continue – we owe it to the smallest and most vulnerable among us.”
“Now more than ever, we need to join as a community to celebrate Mother’s Day and show our appreciation to all the great mothers in our lives,” he said.
Lawley’s Bakery Regional Manager, Stephen Peacock, said the Mother’s Day Breakfast in Bed Boxes were a fantastic opportunity to say thank you to not just our very deserving mothers but all the special women in our lives.
“We might not be able to visit, hug and show our love as we have in years previous, but the sentiment will be just as strong and we hope that this is a fun way to bring families and communities together at a time of real need,” he said.

The Mother’s Day Breakfast in Bed Boxes will be available for collection from several of Lawley’s store locations from 7.30am until 4pm on Mother’s Day or the day before.
