A highly anticipated inclusion to Perth’s events calendar is set to celebrate the achievements of one of the country’s leading medical research institutes and the journey of a family that has been touched by their work to prevent preterm birth.

Presented by Vera Coleski in support of the Women & Infants Research Foundation, The Little Angles 2020 Cocktail Event will showcase exquisite WA food, wine, fashion, and will shine a light on the Foundation’s pioneering work into preventing early birth and infant loss.

MC, Rayne Bryant, will join private industry, prominent social personalities, and WA’s philanthropic community, for the event which is aiming to raise big awareness and funds for preterm birth prevention.

Herself a mother of a ‘Little Angel’, Vera Coleski said: “This event represents the best qualities of the WA community – generous, inspired, and united in their passion to help the smallest and most vulnerable in our community,” she said.

“This event truly represents a coming together of the WA community on a scale that I could never have imagined and each year this incredible partnership grows.”

WIRF Chief Scientific Director and 2020 Senior Australian of the Year, Professor John Newnham AM, pointed to the event as being a key platform to reflect on the significant work that has already been done and to strengthen the Foundation’s work to make preterm birth a national priority.

“Vera’s story is amazingly powerful and her commitment to raising awareness and support for preterm birth should be applauded,” he said.

“There is no road map, as no one has ever done what we are doing. Through WIRF and the efforts of supporters like Vera, no pregnant woman will be left behind.

“If we are to achieve our goal we will need the backing of supporters across the country; none more so than that of our Western Australian community, where our pioneering program was born.”

The Little Angles 2020 Cocktail Event will be held on Saturday, 14 March at Friday’s Studio in West Perth.

The night will feature live entertainment by Vanguard as well as fashion moments by WA design house Reign the Label, a whiskey tasting bar and a gourmet grazing table plus food by award winning chef Egidio Squillace of Birraz Ristobar. An array of highly sought after prizes and experiences are also available on the night.

This is the third Little Angels event delivered by Vera Coleski, with the 2018 and 2019 events raising more than $34,000 for WIRF’s priority research and programs into preterm birth prevention.
