Matt has an extensive background in building and construction but more recently has committed to working within the WA philanthropic sector.
He is passionate and inquisitive about improving education and health outcomes for people at disadvantage, particularly youth. Although Matt has no formal medical qualifications or research expertise, he aims to bring a fresh, everyday person’s perspective to the Scientific Committee – normalising and simplifying research language and outcomes that can be understood and translated clearly. With this in mind, Matt hopes to facilitate more activity and opportunity in the commercialisation of transformative medical research – ultimately improving health and education outcomes for families in WA and further afield.
Beyond finding great reward and interest within the giving space, Matt gets his kicks out of travelling, music, a plethora of outdoor sports and connecting with the natural environment. And one day, he hopes to master the Portuguese language.
