About Professor Peter Gething

Professor Peter Gething is a John Curtin Distinguished Professor at Curtin University and The Kids Research Institute Australia Perth, Western Australia. His interests are in the development and application of analytics to address policy-relevant questions in public health.

His group focuses on the geospatial modelling of population health status, intervention access and impact, burden of disease estimation, and health system impact evaluation. 

Before moving to Australia, Professor Gething led a group at the University of Oxford from 2008-2019 where he was a Professor in Epidemiology at the Big Data Institute, Nuffield Department of Medicine.

He has authored more than 200 peer reviewed papers, collectively cited over 140,000 times.
