2026 marks the Women and Infants Research Foundation’s (WIRF) 50th anniversary – a monumental milestone celebrating five decades of improving the health and wellbeing of women, babies, and families through research, education,  and support programs.

WIRF CEO Deb Portughes recently joined Jo Trilling on the 102.5 ABC Perth Afternoons Program to reflect on the Foundation’s impact across Western Australia and beyond over the past 50 years.

The following day, Jo Trilling and members of the 102.5 ABC Perth team visited King Edward Memorial Hospital to meet dedicated neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) health professionals and WIRF volunteers, and learn more about the difference they make to families every day.
