Research Acceleration Awards
WIRF's Research Acceleration Awards have been designed to support perinatal research in Western Australia in the service of women’s, maternal and newborn health.
The Women and Infants Research Foundation (WIRF) has a proud history of supporting Western Australia's top emerging medical researchers. In 2024, WIRF will build upon its commitment to the next generation of WA researchers working in the service of women's, maternal and newborn health through the Research Acceleration Awards.
In addition to building on existing research in preterm birth prevention, gynaecology, neonatology and maternal mental health, the Foundation enthusiastically seeks to support a diverse body of research (i.e. nursing, midwifery, allied health, rare diseases, femtech and clinical audit) relevant to the enhancement of women’s, maternal and newborn health.
The scheme provides funding for two streams: Quality Improvement Research and Discovery Research. Grants to a total value of either: $45,000, $30,000, or $15,000 for a 12 month project duration may be applied for.
Applications for both Quality Improvement and Discovery Research funding must be in an area aligned with the Foundation’s research objectives, directly relevant to the enhancement of maternal and newborn health, and undertaken in WA.
Applications open: Thursday, 4th April 2024
Applications closed: NOON (AWST), Monday, 15th April 2024.
