Fundraising Guidelines

Fundraising guidelines - terms and conditions

The Women & Infants Research Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that focuses on building healthy Australian families and improving outcomes for all women, mothers and their babies.

Before setting off on your fundraising journey, it is important that all fundraisers understand their responsibilities and that they have read and understood the fundraising guidelines.

Authority to Fundraise

If you have set up an online fundraising page, you will be issued an Authority to Fundraise for WIRF via a platform (i.e., MyCause, GoFundMe). Please note this is only for online fundraising.

If you are raising funds offline (i.e., cash donations, barbeque, gala ball, raffle, dinner night), please ensure you have notified WIRF of your event, including a description of how you will raise funds. You must be issued with an Authority to Fundraise from the WIRF office prior to moving forward with your fundraiser. Please contact us if you are unsure if you have this.

Legislation

The event/fundraiser must meet the requirements of relevant State and/or Territory laws and regulations, and it is the responsibility of the fundraiser to obtain any permits and licences that may be required. The Women & Infants Research Foundation does not provide legal advice regarding compliance with these laws and regulations.

WIRF does not condone door-to-door cash collections, unless prior consent (issued via an Authority to Fundraise) has been given.

Each State has varied regulations regarding raffles. It is the fundraisers responsibility to ensure they are aware of the extensive guidelines regarding this type of fundraising. Read the State Regualtions here.
