WIRF Volunteers run the Foundation's Opportunity Shop at King Edward Memorial Hospital. It's a great place to grab a quality bargain or donate your near-new baby, maternity and women’s clothing.
The Op Shop is open from
Monday to Thursday, 10.00am - 2.00pm (subject to volunteer availability). If the Op Shop is not open on these days, and up until 12.30pm, please go to the WIRF Cafe and ask for Sam. The Op Shop takes EFTPOS only.
All donated, pre-loved items go a long way toward helping KEMH patients and savvy outside shoppers purchase affordable and beautiful clothing for themselves and their babies. We have a large range of beautiful new hand knitted jumpers, cardigans, caps and bootees. Crocheted, knitted and quilted rugs for cots/cribs are also available.
Donation guidelines:
- Items must be free of stains, tears and pilling. The tag should be readable and it is preferable not have a child’s name on the item. The clothing should be washed and ironed.
- Acceptable donations include baby and toddlers' clothing (from premmies to size 2), women’s wear including maternity (for new and expectant mums), prams, port-a-cots, baby blankets, muslin wraps, toys and books suitable for babies and toddlers.
- We do not accept electronic items, bric-a-brac and jewellery.
Location: The Op-Shop is located on the lower ground floor of Centennary Wing next to the Cashier's Office.
Donations: For convenience we have a donation bin near the front of the Op Shop.
Funds raised from the Op Shop assist WIRF to conduct essential research into women'sand infants' health.
